Highway 57 Project - Forecast for week of June 16, 2025
June 13, 2025
As they say, "No plan of attack survives the first encounter with the enemy". Such has been the theme of our project thus far.
Right off the bat, upon beginning excavation, it was discovered that Zipply Fiber has several runs of phone line buried across a wide swath of the roadway easement that runs the length of our project which makes it very difficult to operate in that same area. Zipply has agreed to relocate their service lines and has already begun that process, beginning with the area at the site where the sewer line crosses under Highway 57 near Outlet Bay. A huge thank you to Zipply for working with our crew and prioritizing this effort!
Additionally, ground water in the area has made it challenging as well. The crew has implemented de-watering measures that appear to be making a significant improvement to the bore site.
Supplies have been steadily arriving and the HDPE pipe welding proces has begun which means that we should be making significant progress very shortly.
We anticipate that excavation South of the Lutheran Church will take place this coming week and the bore crew should be able to resume work as well.
